Our promise about your memories

Passboards is a small, independent app. Here is exactly what we promise about the photos, videos and words you keep here, and nothing we can’t stand behind.

   Export is free, always. Anyone who can see a board can save all of it to Photos, or export it as a zip with the captions, dates and who posted what. It will never sit behind a paywall.

   Nothing you’ve posted is shrunk to make you pay. We never delete, re-compress or lower the quality of what’s already on a board to make room or to sell you something. Free boards stay exactly as they are.

   Notice before any shutdown. If Passboards ever closes, everyone gets at least 90 days’ notice in the app and by email, and export keeps working for that whole time.

   Board Pass originals are kept. On a board with a Board Pass, new photos and videos keep their original files (with location removed) for as long as the board exists.

How we store things: Passboards runs on our own server, and we keep backup copies of it. We’re not a giant cloud company, which is one more reason export is free — the safest copy of a memory is one you also keep yourself.
